Sarah is a retired science teacher and is married to Nigel Birch, who she met at Aberystwyth University, who is also on the Committee. They moved to Wokingham 40 years ago with 3 small children, the eldest of whom started at St Sebastian’s School. They started to attend St Sebastian’s Church and met Rev Derek Burden, who had visited Mityana with a friend from “Send a Cow”, and who highlighted the lack of education, health facilities and water for so many. Sarah got to know Jean Ajin and became the Secretary of the newly formed charity in 1999.
