The Mityana Charity is delighted to congratulate our founder, Jean Ajin, on being awarded a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of more than 30 years of dedicated charitable service supporting families and communities in Uganda.
Over the past three decades, Jean has worked tirelessly alongside supporters, trustees, volunteers, and our partners at PaCT to help create opportunities for children and families facing significant challenges. Through sponsorship programmes, community development projects, healthcare initiatives, and educational support, thousands of lives have been positively impacted.
This prestigious honour recognises Jean’s unwavering dedication and perseverance.
Jean’s journey began through a school partnership that sparked a lifelong commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable children and families in the Mityana district. What started as a small initiative has since grown into a sustained effort to expand access to education, healthcare, clean water, and community support programmes.
Everyone at The Mityana Charity is incredibly proud to see Jean’s work recognised at this national level. Her passion and determination have inspired countless supporters and have helped build a charity that continues to make a meaningful difference in communities across Uganda.
