Boosting PaCT’s capacity and sustainability

The Mityana Charity funds projects that are implemented by Partners for Community Transformation (PaCT) which is based in Mityana. The long-standing and fruitful relationship between the two organisations has been a key ingredient in being able to enhance the lives and wellbeing of many children and their families.

All donations to the Mityana Charity are subject to a 5% levy to help cover the running costs of the Charity and PaCT. The levy is augmented by the gift aid claimed on all eligible donations. The levy and gift aid are used to support the running costs of PaCT.

  • Ugandan Salaries. Funds are provided for salaries and associated costs for the PaCT staff in Uganda who implement the projects funded via the Charity.
  • Ugandan Expenses. Contributions are made to the overhead costs of PaCT such as general admin expenses, wifi subscription, auditor, AGM, sponsorship on-line system, and medical insurance.

Occasionally funds are provided for one-off purchases that enhance PaCT’s operations or facilities. For example, in recent years such funds have been used to develop the Business and Innovation Centre, provide books for the Resource Centre and improve the facilities for PaCT’s staff.

As well as carrying out the activities funded by the Charity, PaCT also implements projects that are funded by other international charities and governmental bodies. These enhance PaCT’s range of activities as well as contributing to running costs. This diversification of funding is important for sustaining the long-term sustainability of PaCT.
