Enhancing provision of water, sanitation and hygiene

We contribute to alleviating the water crisis in Uganda by providing water tanks for the collection of rainwater from the roofs of schools. Also we provide latrines and handwashing facilities.

100+ facilities built

The WASH crisis has a devastating impact on education, with children spending valuable time collecting water, and poor menstrual hygiene management contributing to a 10% dropout rate among girls.

Mityana Charity, through its partner organisation PaCT, is dedicated to addressing this critical issue by implementing sustainable WASH solutions. Our strategy includes:

  • Providing clean water sources and sanitation facilities through rainwater harvesting systems, latrines and eco-friendly drinking water filtering stations.
  • Promoting hygiene behaviour change through community-centred approaches, focusing on regular hand-washing with soap and water, and food safety.

We align ourselves with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, aiming to ensure universal access to clean water and sanitation.
