Vocational training
Our partner organisation in Mityana has established strong connections with vocational colleges that offer training in various trades for our less academic school leavers. Students can train to become car mechanics, cooks, hairdressers, tailors, welders, and more. Additionally, we have partnerships with colleges offering qualifications in topics such as teaching, nursing, plumbing, catering, computing, and electrical installation.
University education
For our most academically gifted students, the path to higher education includes taking A levels and applying to university. But funding university education is costly, making it challenging for even the brightest students to attend without sponsorship. To address this, we seek donations of any size to help ‘part fund’ a child’s university education, alongside traditional sponsorships and contributions from extended families who sometimes provide accommodation in Kampala.
By supporting vocational training and university education, we aim to provide youths with the skills and opportunities they need to build successful, self-sustaining futures. Join us in making a lasting impact.
The cost of sponsoring a tertiary student will depend upon the course. Typically a two-year vocational course costs £2,380 and a three-year university course costs £3,360.
